Crewe Hair and Skin Clinic

This clinic is following Covid-secure guidance

Covid social distancing precautions policy

This policy has been in place to ensure the safety anyone attending Crewe Hair and Skin Clinic while the Coronavirus pandemic is an evolving and dynamic crisis.

Initial consultations are now offered virtually for hair loss, trichotest and cosmetic skin concerns. Where possible consent forms will be emailed and signed before attending the  clinic. Clinic attendances will be minimised to the shortest safest times possible in order to minimise transmission of the virus.

Bookings can be made using the links on the website. During times of higher risk, the service may be listed, but no appointment time will be  available. The booking system will show available times against the appointments that are bookable.

The measures that have been put in place are based upon the best available evidence, government guidance and keeping abreast of what colleagues in similar fields of work are doing.  The intention is to work as safely and responsibly as possible.

From Monday 13th July 2020 the clinic space will be available for procedures and treatments within current government guidance for pre-booked face to face appointments with current customers

The guidelines that have put in place are dependent upon the UK’s status within the government’s COVID-19 1-5 alert system.

During higher alert levels (3-5), appointments will be  carried out as much as possible virtually  to minimise time in close contact.  Where possible payments will be taken in advance to minimise contact.  The clinic continues to provide services for people over the age of 18 years.

Appointments continue to be bookable on line via, and are available 5 days a week.   Saturdays will be offered where available.

Your New Look “Patient Journey”

To help summarise how your appointments will look during the high alert levels, the journey has been broken down  into 4 stages:

1.       Before your face to face appointment

2.       On arrival to your face to face appointment

3.       During your face to face  appointment

4.       After your face to face appointment

Before Your Appointment

The following will take place prior to your arrival at the clinic

You will receive an automated confirmation of the appointment via the booking system.

An email confirmation shall be sent that includes a medical history form and a COVID-19 questionnaire.  It will ask you the following questions (these questions may be amended as the situation evolves). If you answer yes to any of these questions please do not book.

Triage questions

• Are you currently suspected of having COVID-19?

• Have you been in contact with or are living with someone suspected or confirmed of having Covid-19?

• Do you have a fever, or have you had a high temperature in the last 14 days (a fever is a temperature?

greater than 37.8c?

• Have you had a cough or any other respiratory signs in the last 14 days?

• Do you suffer from any of the following? Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, including hypertension,

chronic lung disease, immunodeficiency, cancer under active treatment?

• Are you pregnant?

• Are you over 70 years of age?

It is imperative that these forms are completed and returned to via email before your appointment. Please aim to return these the day before your appointment (or at the earliest 48 hours before your appointment and latest the morning of your appointment).

If a form has not been received  before your appointment, a non-attendance fee will be charged in accordance with our standard terms and conditions.

Until the pandemic has been declared over the clinic will be operating a “closed door policy”. This means that only patients with an appointment will be seen..

You shall receive our usual text message reminder before the appointment.

It is a requirement that:

·         You must attend your appointment unaccompanied.

·         Upon arrival you must wash your hands or use the hand gel provided. Hand gel will be located on the shelf near the entry door on the right hand side as you enter.

·         Please limit the wearing of jewellery. Wedding rings may be worn provided hands are kept clear from the face

·         Minimal make up should be worn

·         Please limit the number of personal possessions you bring with you.

·         When the treatment is complete you must wash your hands once more.

Upon Arrival

Press the buzzer. When the door entry system is answered, please push the door firmly.

When you arrive at reception please only bring essential items with you.

1.       Please attend your appointment  wearing a face mask alone, unless you are aged 16-18  attending with a parent.

2.       Please bring your own pen should any consent forms require a signature.

3.       Arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time (no earlier to avoid contact with our previous patient) and please do not be late (it is more important than ever for us to keep to time so that we can maintain our strict cross infection control measures and is a further reason why we shall initially be limiting our treatment procedures).

4.       Keep 1m+ apart wherever possible

5.       Further COVID-19 questions will be asked.

6.       Please use the hand-sanitiser gel that shall be placed next to reception before entering the clinic.

Temperature check will not be done as research indicates that this is not a reliable way of diagnosing possible COVID-19

The clinic should be ready for you to enter immediately – if not, please take your seat on the clear chairs by the door initially which are directly on your left as you enter. Coats and bags brought to appointments are to be left either on the chairs at the front of the clinic or the cloakroom area at the front of the clinic.

The couch, chair and any areas of contact will be wiped down after every person.

During Your Appointment

For the majority of patients, not much will differ. Certain additional measures have been put in place including the wearing of masks.

When PPE is not being worn by staff, please be mindful of the 1m + social distancing measures that are currently in place.

After Your Treatment

The following will take place after your appointment:

You shall be escorted to the reception desk as usual and your next appointment booked.

No appointment cards can be handed out but a confirmation email will again be sent to you.

Please use the alcohol hand sanitiser next to the reception desk again.

The clinic will be wiped down  in preparation for the next patient.
