Crewe Hair and Skin Clinic

Skin clinic – conditions

Crewe Hair and Skin clinic aims to help you with skin concerns including pigmentation issues, wrinkles, fine lines and signs of ageing.

Hyperpigmentation/Melasma

Melasma and hyperpigmentation  are seen as dark  patches on the face. It is seen more commonly in people with  darker skin. The most important thing to do now is always sun screen with an SPF of more than 30 as the pigment will increase with more sun exposure.

The clinic offers a pigmentation peel package treatment programme  to reduce the appearance of the pigementation. This includes a salicylic acid peel which is generally safer in darker skins. Salicylic acid peel is best if skin is oily, (a glycolic acid peel is preferred if the skin is dry).  The programme usually requires a total of 3 peels every 2 weeks.

The Obagi Nu Derm system which is an at home treatment programme  offered at the clinic for this condition over typically 18-24 weeks. The programme involves visiting the clinic at 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 18 weeks and then 24 weeks.

Other ways of treating melasma can be discussed at the aesthetics appointment.
