Vertical bands of the neck (Platysmal bands)
What is the issue?
As the face ages, these bands become more prominent.
These bands can be made to look more prominent when tensing the neck.
Multiple injections of Botox vertically down the side of the neck along the platysmal band muscles can make the bands look less prominent.
However surgery is a more permanent solution
When will results be seen?
5-7 days.
How long do the results last?
Results usually last 3-5 months depending on the strength of the platysma muscle, the frequency and intensity of the neck movements.
Is repeated treatment necessary?

What are the important side effects to be aware of?
This is generally a safe procedure, but the rare side effects can include dry mouth, speaking, swallowing and neck weakness in addition to the usual risks of Botox to the upper face.
