What is medical microneedling?
Medical Microneedling has been a long established treatment for a range of skin concerns.
It involves the introduction of multiple small sterile needles into the skin to stimulate controlled wound healing and repair. This in turn stimulates regenerative processes in different layers of the skin, renewing collagen fibres and strengthening elastin.
The outer layers of the skin are punctured in a minimally invasive manner. With this technique, the wound healing mechanisms are activated without damaging the epidermis (outer layer of the skin); and the puncture channels close again quickly.

Is it painful?
This is much less painful than other microneedling experiences at a similar depth to the extent that local anaesthetic is not usually needed.
A professional concentrated hyaluronic gel lubricant is used. The gel comprises only water, hyaluronic acid, glycerin and preservatives minimizing the risk of an allergic reaction. It is dermatologically compatible, even for sensitive skin.
The secret is the high stroke frequency of 150 insertions per second which enables a quick treatment without scarring or treating the skin. The needle count in the cartridge ensures atraumatic penetration and minimizes the pain sensation.

The stimulator or restorative peel is done first. The face is then cleansed with Clinisept.
Microneedling is done up to a depth of 1.25mm
The skin is then cleansed with saline solution
The XCellaris Pro Intensive Hydration Mask is applied with the option of facial massage with cryoglobes
The masks is removed after 15 minutes and then excess product is massage in.
The procedure is then completed with XCellaris Pro CC cream
Can it be used alongside homecare?
Dermaroller GmbH also offer a range of home-care products for recommended use in combination with the Xcellaris PRO.
By treating the stratum corneum, actives are able to penetrate the skin 1000% more.

What about after treatment?
Microneedling removes dead and loose skin cells. UV rays as well as free radicals can therefore penetrate the skin much easier and even cause post inflammatory hyperpigmentation by triggering the melanocytes. Therefore the right skincare and UV protection after microneedling is very important.
The cost of the recommended products does increase the price, but it is recommended that you use the recommended products to optimise results.
What sort of effects are possible?

Microneedling - Scar
A course of 6 (minimum 3) is recommended. Complementary products include: Cell Activator and Cell Repair along with the HC902 dermaroller
For acne scarring a course of 6 treatments are recommended which can be alternated with a medium depth Vi peel or course of polynucleotides. Purasomes exosomes can be used to boost the treatment.

Stretch Marks
Striae distensae or stretch marks are strip-shaped atrophic skin changes that are a sign of structural weakness of the fibrous framework of the skin.
Stretch marks are a frequent skin condition associated with pregnancy, weight change or lack of skin elasticity.
For people with darker skin Bio-Spicules are recommended

Pigmentation
Microneedling treatment can improve pigment disorders, balances melanocytes and prevents skin inflammation.
Uneven skin tone with dark spots may be solar lentigines (sun damage), melasma(hormonally), and post-inflammatory pigmentation.
The skin is often unbalanced, stressed and easily inflamed.
Time of treatment

Hair Loss Treatment
Using a needle depth of between 0.5mm and 1mm there will be pinpoint bleeding.
2-4 treatments are recommended every 4 weeks
