Armpit sweating

Armpit sweating

Excess sweating of the armpits can be extremely embarrassing.

For many people there is no reason why it happens. It usually starts in childhood or adolescence, but can start at any age.

It is recommended that you see your GP to ensure that there are no medical reasons. You may be prescribed medical treatment or be referred to a dermatologist.

Botulinum A toxin can be used to help with the symptoms of excessive armpit sweating. It is given by repeated intradermal injections into the affected area and has been shown to be safe and effective.

It can also be administered using the WOW fusion device, so the cost of the treatment reflects the amount of ‘Botox’ used and the cost of the device and what it is diluted in..  As the 1mm device will be used, numbing cream is used 20 minutes before the procedure. This technology can also be used to help with excess sweating of the palms and soles and face.

The length of time it is effective can vary significantly from person to person, but could last anytime between 2 and 9  months.

Suitability for this treatment can be discussed following an in-clinic consultation.   You will be asked to book a remote consultation first.
