Consultation for scalp concerns

If you are experiencing problems with your scalp including itchiness, discharge or scale which have not responded to over the counter treatments, you may have an undiagnosed condition.

Reasons for problems on the scalp  include scalp psoriasis, CCCA, Folliculitis Decalvans, Seborrhoeic Dermatitis, Lichen Planopilaris, folliculitis decalvans, and dissecting cellulitis.

To ensure that you are on the correct treatment path, a diagnostic consultation  has to take place at this clinic before any treatments are undertaken.  This involves taking a detailed history and examining your scalp  with a TrichoLab image (a form of high magnification using polarized light which has the added benefit of a second opinion from hair loss specialists across the world).

Scalp Concerns

There a few ways in which this clinic can help with scalp concerns:

  • If there is a prescribable medical treatment for your scalp issue that is covered by the clinic insurance this can be prescribed for you privately, or your can be equipped with information to ask your GP to prescribe for you
  • A specialist commercial shampoo which can be arranged to be delivered to your home via the Get Harley Portal. The advantage of this is that ordering is easy, using the service supports the clinic and it helps the clinic to monitor how you have been adhering to the plan.
  • In Clinic Trichological scalp treatments.    This involves creams being applied and trichological shampoos being used at the clinic.  Further information is on this link.   Each treatment costs £50, and includes 20 minutes of  Light treatment.
  • WOW fusion mesotherapy.  This option is useful for excess sebum on the scalp. It can be useful for menopausal ladies who are experiencing scalp sweating.  A series of treatments are needed.  The treatment with Botulinum Toxin is done at the first treatment and then again 12 weeks later (£300 per treatment), and in between there are 6 weekly treatments without toxin (£150 per treatment)
  • RRS XL hair treatment.  This injectable treatment can help with dry scalp and hair loss. It is done every 1-2 weeks for one month then can be done every 6 weeks thereafter (£75 per treatment)
  • Calecim hair loss treatment    This can be used for hair loss, but this  has shown good results with hair thinning and problem scalps. Blood tests are recommended to be done first
