What are stretch marks?
They are a type of scar which happen when skin stretches or shrinks quickly.

What treatments are available from this clinic
A combination of approaches is recommended. Options include
- Polynucleotides alone
- Biospicules with or without polynucleotide priming
- Peels and microneedling with polynucleotide priming
- PRP can also be helpful as an adjunctive treatment to a Vi Peel 7-10 days after a Vi Peel because the deep exfoliation boosts PRP penetration.
The option chose will depend on multiple factors including your skin type, risk of hyperpigmentation and ability to tolerate downtime
Polynucleotides
The Expert Board recommends injecting intradermal PN-HPT™ to promote the cosmetic and functional improvement of stretch marks and skin laxity. Initial treatment cycle: one session every 7 or 14 days for a total of 4 sessions, followed by one session every 21-30 days for a total of 4 sessions.
Polynucleotides can be used to prime the skin to get better results from the procedures that follow. Because of the larger surface area involved, at least double the amount of polynucleotides typically used on the face/neck/scalp will be needed.
Bio-Spicules
This is a form of microneedling that in some views can be though of as 3 times more effective than ordinary microneedling. It is this clinic’s preferred choic of microneedling in skin of colour
Spicules, similar to microneedling devices used in dermatology, create microchannels within the epidermis. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing processes, particularly promoting collagen and elastin synthesis—key proteins for skin integrity and elasticity.
3-4 sessions are generally recommended.
To help to optimise results a course of 8 polynucleotide injections in the area should be considered.
Vi peel - body

Vi Peel
When the initial trigger for the injury has ceased and the skin has fully recovered, Vi Peel body will support in improving the texture of the skin, evening the pigment of the skin and stimulating collagen to rebuild the structure of the skin.
2-4 peels or more may be required. A combination of peels alternated with microneedling can help to improve outcomes
Automated microneedling with dermaroller Xcellaris ProTwist device

Microneedling can be done 10-14 days after the peel.
The protocol from the manufactureres reommends 2-4 treatments every 4-6 weeks.
2-4 treatments are generally needed. Home care:
